What Inspired In The Fold Studio?
I talked for YEARS about ditched my hometown suburb for big city life. So…when I got the opportunity to move to East Village in NYC my sophomore year in college I was stocked to say the least.
But after a couple months, I had more than one identity crisis instead of having the rosy “coming of age” character arch I dreamed would happen when I moved to a big city. Which led to me trying a MILLION different fashion aesthetic and lifestyles to find which one fit me the best — I’m talking about aesthetics like grunge, Euphoria, and 60s to name a few.
And not one of them fit. Instead, I found a little part of my identity in each that I never knew existed. And instead of freaking out about having an identity crisis, I started viewing it as a freedom to explore these different sides of myself instead of something to stress over!
I started In The Fold Studio as a platform for women to embrace and explore these different sides of themselves! Life is messy and no one is just one thing all the time! It’s ABSOLUTELY OK to dress like a coastal grandma and garden for hours one day and then the next dress like Maddy from Euphoria and go out clubbing the next! It’s all part of the process. I’ll be on the journey figuring it out right next to you!
x,
Caroline
